As of January 1, 2014, ICANN is requiring that all domain owners verify their Whois information.

ICANN mandate

As of January 1, 2014, ICANN is requiring that all domain owners verify their Whois information. Tucows Inc. will be sending emails to domain owners and requesting them to verify their domain information. If your domain has an out of date email address, you will not receive the email, and your account could possibly be suspended.  If your domain is not verified, Tucows Inc. will stop DNS resolution of an unverified domain and place the domain into a Client hold status.

What does this mean?

If your domain does not have a valid email address on record, you will not receive these emails from OpenSRS.  This means you will not be able to verify your domain, and could have your domain suspended.

Nexcess will be working with OpenSRS to find the domains that have been registered with Nexcess, but have not been verified, to ensure that these sites are not suspended.

How to verify a domain

To verify your domain, log in to your OpenSRS account, update the domain information, and once complete, send an email to support@nexcess.net so we can return the registrant verification email.  Once the domain information has been verified, the domain issue should resolve immediately.
