No long-term commitments - just the scalability you need for as long as you need it.
How Does Advanced Auto Scaling Work?
The Advanced Auto Scaling feature is designed to allow your site to scale during planned or unplanned high-traffic events. It does this by moving the PHP workload into containers, allowing for unlimited horizontal scaling (added in batches of 10).
However, this type of scaling comes at the expense of increased average page load time, adding up to 1s to uncached page loads. It is recommended to only enable Advanced Auto Scaling when you are expecting or experiencing significant traffic volume on your web site.
Advanced Auto Scale Pricing
Enabling Advanced Auto Scaling costs $99 / month. This will shift the PHP workers from their infrastructure to a container.
As you need more resources (to be able to handle more concurrent users), you can add additional containers with 10 PHP workers a piece for $50/day.
Advanced Auto Scale Activation
If you are interested in advanced auto scaling, please reach out to our support team through your Client Portal. There are many considerations to be had before enabling this feature. Our team may be able to improve your site performance through other tweaks and changes.
If advanced auto scaling is determined to be the appropriate option, our support team will work with you to schedule a time to activate the feature. Advanced auto scaling may cause a short period of downtime when being enabled or disabled, and we want to make sure we have a dedicated period of time to make it as smooth as possible.
If we have already enabled advanced auto scaling for you, your site dashboard will show you a breakdown of the number of containers in use, their individual costs, and their projected billable time.
