Managed Server Clusters

Our server cluster plans include one DB/file server which provides file storage and database services for the cluster. The plans then include one or more web nodes which act as the "face" to the users accessing your website. Inbound traffic is split amongst these web node servers, ensuring that your site remains online and easily accessible to your users.

Because of the complexity of load balanced server clusters, all of our server cluster plans automatically receive our Level 3 management service at no extra cost!

Each cluster consists of a number of servers, called nodes. Each node plays a specific role, allowing your website to sustain high traffic.

LBC-110 | Starter Cluster – 2 Nodes $749.95 (USD)

The LBC-110 is an entry level cluster configuration designed to accommodate websites that have outgrown the processing power of a single dedicated server solution. By separating the database from the primary web node, you can increase overall site performance by allowing each server to function as a primary role. The database server handles all of the sites queries while the web server only processes dynamic and static content to users.

LBC-210 | Web Application Cluster – 4 Nodes $1499.95 (USD)

The LBC-210 cluster is designed for small to medium sized sites that need additional web front-end processing power. It provides a dedicated load balancer that evenly distributes dynamic and static content among several web-node servers. The number of web-nodes can be increased easily at any point to scale the cluster horizontally if additional processing power is needed. A single database server is situated on a private gigabit network behind the web nodes that is shared among all of the servers in the cluster. Site files are synchronized across all web-nodes via NFS so any changes are immediately available to all web-nodes within the cluster.

LBC-310 | Enterprise Cluster – 6 Nodes $2299.95 (USD)

The LBC-300 is designed for medium to large scale sites that need plenty of power on the web front-end along with database replication. A dedicated load balancer handles and evenly distributes traffic among all web servers in the cluster. If additional front-end web processing and content delivery is necessary, web-nodes can be added to the cluster easily at any point. There are two database servers included within this setup, each one is is situated on a private gigabit network behind the front-end web servers. The slave database server can be configured as either a 'hot spare' where if in any instance the primary server were to go down, the web applications can be configured to use the spare as the master until the master database server can be restored to operation. If supported by applications, read and write queries can be split between the master database server and one or many slave servers.

Optional Juniper Firewall

A Juniper Networks hardware firewall is available for any of the clusters above. Every server is protected with a software based iptables firewall, but additional hardware firewall protection can be provided if necessary.
