About TurboGears

TurboGears is a web development "megaframework" written in Python and utilizes MySQL or another database for storage. TurboGears is geared toward rapid web application development but in a structured and efficient manner. Like many other web frameworks, TurboGears abstracts out much of the tedious, repetitive tasks in developing a web application, allowing you to focus on the business logic, the part of your application that is unique. TurboGears makes it easy to get started on a database-driven, Ajax-enhanced application. TurboGears does this, and stays true to the Open Source philosophy, by drawing on other Open Source projects and binding them together into a cohesive framework:

• SQLObject - Default Database abstraction and access layer, with SQLAlchemy as another powerful alternative.
• ModelDesigner and Catwalk, two tools built with TurboGears itself to aid you in designing your database.
• Kid - Default templating system, with other possible templating engines as options.
• MochiKit - Ajax library
• Full internationalization support
• Search engine friendly URLs
