NEXCESS.NET to Use 25% Renewable Power by 6/1/08
April 14th 2008
Ann Arbor, MI: NEXCESS.NET, a leading Michigan-based web hosting company has announced that by June 1st, 2008 one quarter of the power used at our Dearborn hosting facility will be from renewable sources. In November of last year we announced plans to be using 100% renewable energy by late 2009, and at the time began using 10% renewable energy at our data center. This will increase to 25% by June 1st.
We are proud of our commitment to do our part in confronting the environmental challenges that face us all, and as a business that makes heavy use of electrical power, we feel this is the way that we can best contribute to the solution. We are able to do this through DTE Energy's Green Currents program, which is a voluntary program that allows any DTE customer to choose the amount of Michigan-based renewable energy they would like it use in electricity purchased through DTE.
