NEXCESS.NET Pledges to "Go Green"

Ann Arbor, MI: NEXCESS.NET, a leading provider of high quality web hosting solutions, has pledged to be using 100% renewable energy within the next two years, and has already switched 10% of their energy use to renewable sources through DTE Energy's Green Currents program. Green Currents uses energy generated from renewable sources such as wind power, solar and bioenergy.

There's little doubt these days that greenhouse gasses contribute to global climate change, and we believe in doing our part to mitigate the problem. As a web hosting company, our primary contribution to the problem is our use of electrical power. Thus this is our primary focus.

We also feel that it is important to do more than simply purchase carbon-offsets like other hosting companies. While carbon offsets are certainly better than doing nothing, not creating the emissions in the first place is surely better. We plan to do this by using renewable power as much as possible, with offsets being used only to make up the difference to make us carbon neutral.
