Why Nexcess?
The Beginning
Nexcess™ was founded in October, 2000 as the proverbial "two guys in a garage". We had aspirations of providing good, quality hosting services at reasonable prices. In the beginning, we simply hosted friends, family and any other folks we could convince into using our fledgling service.
It was very slow going in the beginning which gave us time to think about automating our operations for the future clients we hoped to have. Also during this time, the InterWorx™ Control Panel and NOCWorx™ data center Management System was actually born, in part, out of our early days of tinkering.
Nexcess™ Today
Our client base has grown since those early days and we attribute this growth to our focus on old fashioned customer service. To this day our main source of new clients is via word-of-mouth and, while many folks refer clients to us as a matter of course, we do actually offer a reward for referrals. A large part of our success can be attributed to the relationships that we have built with clients over the past decade.
Over the years, many of our clients have grown from very small businesses or tiny boutique sites into large operations requiring complex hosting solutions. We have taken great pleasure in being able to aid in our clients' growth and accommodate their growing needs by providing a broad range of plans and services, as well as first-class, 24/7 support.
A major turning point for our own growth as a company occurred in late 2006 when we acquired our own data center, located in the Metro Detroit area (Dearborn, Michigan). Since opening the doors to our data center, we have been able to provide an even higher level of client support, and a wider range of plans and services, including Michigan-based colocation, dedicated hosting, managed server clusters, and most recently, our Magento E-Commerce plans, which have proven to be extremely popular.
In mid 2012, we will be expanding our capacities by opening yet another data center facility, located in Southfield, Michigan.
The Future
In this market, change is quick and constant. With our expertise and experience, we are committed to staying one step ahead of the latest trends and demands so that we can continue to diversify the services that we offer, and in turn, be fully capable of meeting the unique needs for each of our clients.
The garage days are long over, but we have not forgotten those times of uncertainty, when we had a whole lot of ambition, but not a lot of experience. We have worked very hard to get where we are today and are proud of how far we've come. Looking ahead, we will remain committed to do what we have been doing since day one: Meeting the needs of our clients and providing them with unparalleled service and support.
